The Federal Air Marshal Service deploys Federal Air Marshals (FAMs) on U.S. aircraft world-wide and conducts protection, response, detection and assessment activities in airports and other transportation systems. FAMs are an elite team of armed federal law enforcement officers deployed on passenger flights worldwide to ensure safe travels and protect airline passengers and crew against criminal and terrorist violence.
